Drill here... drill NOW!

According to my liberal representatives here in California, the current high gas prices would not be helped by drilling here in the US. To quote Diane Feinstein, "...I do not believe that we can drill our way out of the current record energy prices..." Why not? Increasing the inventory ALWAYS brings down prices. Which school did she go to? The school of environmental special interests that's where.

Living in California has been politically frustrating. After the June 3 defeat of proposition 98 which would have restored sanity to the rental market in places like San Francisco, Los Angeles, Oakland and Berkeley and the pending passage of an assembly bill which would make "point of sale" energy audits mandatoy, I fear we are heading toward recession. Crazy politicians and their even crazier constituents are pushing the state toward bankruptcy. Even the Governor, no conservative, is fearful for our economy.

So on a national level, the California Democrats like Pelosi, Boxer and Feinstein are running the agenda. And after two years, look at where we are. They want to blame President Bush, but how then do they explain the previous 6 years of prosperity? Think of what it will be like with 4 years of Obama or Clinton and even bigger majorities in the house and senate. I'm warning you. That little island place we bought in Panama is starting to look better and better!

My fear is that we are losing our country. I know, I know. They thought that right after the Revolutionary War too, but at least they were closer to agreeing on what this country would look like. Does anyone think if the founders were alive today they would approve of the way the environmental minority is setting the agenda for the rest of us with bigger government, higher taxes, less freedom and more litigation? NO WAY! Remember, they went to war over an amount in taxes, that is more than just the amount we pay today on our telephone bills for the hearing impaired!!

If people want to solve this gas crisis now which has been created by environmentalists and liberals who refuse to let our oil companies drill and refine in this country, there is a new website that will be going up soon. It is called www.FedUpNetwork.com and will primarily focus on one issue at a time. The first endeavour will be HIGH GAS PRICES and pointing out who is to blame for them... and it sure isn't the Republicans like Democrats claim!

Check it out.

John Hofmeister, President of Shell Oil is my new hero

Oil executives have it bad. Every other week, it seems, they are being called up to Capitol Hill to testify as to why gas prices are so high when it is the idiots who called them to come are the real culprits. And now, John Hofmeister has told them just as much.

At some point, people are going to tell environmental whackos where to get off and insist the government lift some, if not all of the restrictions that have been placed on oil companies. Everything we drives uses gasoline. There's no getting around it. Even hybrids use petroleum products. Even the plastic bike helmets that the liberal whackos don so that they don't have to burn fossil fuels to get somewhere are made from petroleum! So why are we not being allowed to go get it?

Look at any other business and tell me one that has been told to produce something, but you can't get it here, can't explore there. If we did that to Congress the country would be in better shape, but other than that, not a single business could do well. And yet they are being charged as if what they are doing to make a living is crimminal. I, for one, am insulted on behalf of the oil companies.

That's why when John Hofmeister, president of Shell Oil handed it to the judiciary committee this week, Dick Durbin and Charles Schumer should have been ashamed of themselves. But they won't be because they are politicians... actors... and they have no conscience. Their only contribution to society is to pretend to solve problems and then get paid for it... thus keeping them off unemployment. Personally, I would prefer they do the latter. Scumbags.

Let the oil companies do what they do best and let's start hauling the global warming hoaxsters into court and make them prove their case!

The topic is ENERGY policy... or lack of one!

The senate is out of touch. With Democrats in the majority, they have ruined our economy with their stupid policies. And now they are about to do it again. As recently as May 9th, they are proposing a double whammy to America's energy companies.

Not only will they revoke any tax credits for big oil companies, but they are also proposing a windfall profits tax on companies that don't invest in new energy sources. This is the stupidist thing I have ever heard.

Companies are in business to make a profit. If they could sell mud and make money they would do so with or without any tax consequences by the government. So why are politicians threatening oil companies if they don't invest in something that might make them money??? You've got it. There will be no profit in these energy alternatives because they don't work and people don't want them. Just like the recycling ruse foisted upon us by liberals (because most of the recycling goes into land fills and does not get reused... it's too expensive!) And who is going to pay for these extra expenses? You and I will. How does this lower gas prices????? It doesn't.

Harry Reid could be one of the worst senate leaders ever. If he is still in office after the next election, then people will deserve what they get from his incompetence. Remember those expensive bi-partisan hearings where the oil executives were marched up in front of the arrogant senators and asked to defend themselves? And remember that the investigation into "price gouging" turned up nothing? So where are the windfall profits?

After 6 years of booming economy, the Democrats have been in power in both the house and the senate and the bottom has dropped out of the economy. Who are they blaming? Bush. Now if Bush gets the blame, then shouldn't he get the credit for the previous 6 years? No, Bush is bad, Democrats are good. BULL. I contend that liberal policies are ruining this country and with a Democrat president, it will only get worse.

I suggested to the oil companies on their websites that they do a little better job of tooting their own horns. The press surely is not going to do it. I suggested they do the OSH "we pay the sales tax" promotion where they voluntarily lower their per gallon price at the pump by the amount of state and federal taxes to show people how much they are really adding to the skyrocketing gas prices. Then they should use that opportunity to educate people on what it takes to bring that gas to the pump. And all the roadblocks that the government is putting in their way to brining us cheap gas.

We need one formulation of gas. We need more refineries. We need more drilling. Even hybrids still use gas. And since ethanol is using up our food sources and making our groceries cost more, we need to do something. Corn can be eaten, so why use it for fuel? Oil is good for nothing other than burning for energy. Let's get real.

I am going to harp on this until someone wakes up and starts telling us the truth!

What the media doesn't tell you - liberalism doesn't work!

If liberalism worked, then California would not be in the trouble it is in financially. Take this as an example of what liberalism does when it's tried.

True we have a Republican governor, but he is by no means a conservative. He is another John McCain... trying to get along with both sides. And what is the result? More and more debt... and that's without an expensive Iraq war to use as an excuse of where the money is going!

Example one of how liberal ideas don't work: People in California are being rewarded with a tax credit for buying the Toyota "Pious" and other hybrids because they save gasoline. They get more miles to the gallon than regular automobiles and SUVs. Sounds like a good idea, right?

So what happens is that our little lemmings go out and buy the hype. There are probably more hybrids per square mile in California than anywhere in the US. As a result, not as many gallons of gas are being consumed. Good you say? Not for the tax and spend liberals who are running California. Instead of balancing the budget and doing away with programs that don't work, they need your tax dollars. But now that people are not buying as much gas, they are not getting the tax revenue they were expecting!

I am told that there are about $0.45 or more per gallon of gas and with people using less gas, that means less taxes for the greedy government. So what are they discussing now? In a place where we already have some of the highest prices per gallon of gas in the nation, they are talking about adding a new gas tax at the pump to increase revenue!

But wait, isn't big oil being blamed for the high prices??? And what about all the ethanol (made from corn) that's being used? I thought oil was the problem? So you're saying that if we went to 100% ethanol we would still be paying the same price for "gas"? That's right. In fact, not only will ethanol cost the same or more than gasoline (because it is so hard to transport), it has side effects.

Because corn is used for our food sources, those prices are rising as more and more corn is being used as "gasoline". As it becomes more scarce, prices to feed livestock rise and so this cost is being passed on to consumers when they buy dairy or meat products. Corn is also used in many processed foods, so these are going up too.

All this because we want to wean ourselves off foreign oil! That's just one liberal idea that has backfired on the powers that be. I for one can't wait to see what they come up with next!

More on ANWR - putting things in perspective

Here's the deal. Over and over again, I hear passionate callers complain about the possibility of drilling in ANWR and how it would spoil this pristine wilderness. My question is this... have they ever been there?

My recent request from the Forest and Wildlife Service netted the answer that only about 1200-1500 people visited there in 2007. Do you realize that most of these were hunters and fishermen! I hardly think the environmentalists are up there hunting! Regardless, of over 281 million people living in the united states, that is less than .05% of our population saw it last year! Five 100ths of a percent.

So what are we saving? The footprint has been projected to be small, yet the amount of oil we will glean from the field will help ease oil prices and give us a domestic source of energy. So when prices keep getting publicized as "going up at the pump" I say thank the liberals. They put us in this position. We need oil, not hybrids!

Another example of vegans at odds

I have been quiet for the last couple of days, but several thoughts hit me yesterday and I will try and articulate them this morning in a series of posts.

First of all, let's talk about the natural food, vegans who are probably all anti-oil. Where do they think that pleather comes from? Sure they don't want to support the killing of cows as meat or leather, so they wear synthetic substitutes. Problem is, they are also probably against oil, drive a hybrid, but don't realize how many of our plastics come from oil products... including that pleather jacket they are wearing.

My point is this. Many people are against things. Especially here in Mill Valley. Problem is, they are hypocrites in the fact that there is no getting away from the very things they are protesting! Not sure if I made my point or not, but it makes sense to me.

Hybrids are a good example. The Toyota "Pious" has its own theme song now. As annoying as it is (I turn the sound off when it comes on), they still use gasoline. So how does that really help the environment, especially since our population is growing and the amount they save will be offset by new drivers in a very short time... More to come...
