2008 - A Referendum on Obama

Take McCain out of the equation. He is a lot like George Bush in that he is totally beatable. But it all comes down to who will run against him. I'll admit that of the two opponents, Hillary has the better resume, but even she has only been an elected representative for just over one term. Plus she is totally unlikeable by most people. So what about Obama?

He hasn't done anything so there is nothing much to criticize. That could be good if he were running for dogcatcher. But this is the highest office in the land. Shouldn't that person have SOME experience? The answer is YES. That's why this election will be about Obama, not McCain. Just as Democrats chose the worst candidate, John Kerry, in 2004 to run against Bush, now they have chosen Obama solely because he is a black man. What other reason could there be? Surely not because of his great accomplishments, because he doesn't have any. Not that McCain does either, but at least he's been in government for years.

Just like those Hollywood sets you see on TV, people are starting to realize that Obama is a false front with nothing behind it. The news media predictably supports the guy and publishes puff piece after puff piece. After Katie Couric asked him the same hard question 4 times about whether or not he would have supported the surge in Iraq (if he knew then what he knows now about its success would he support the surge?) His answer was NO. But was it reported anywhere? The answer is NO. The media lies by omission too!

In conclusion, this guy has a lot of warped policy ideas. There is nothing new about him despite his slogan. He is of the socialist mindset and nothing is going to change that. EVERYTHING he has proposed by way of policy is taking from this group and giving to those who don't earn it. At some point if this keeps up, our country will collapse. Wage earners will be in the minority and the incentive to produce will be stifled by government bureaucracy and red tape. Someone is behind Obama pulling his strings, and that is what frightens me the most. If he is elected, he will not be running the show. And who is the man that is behind that curtain?

Democrats on the ropes!

If Hillary was really in it to do what's best for the Democratic Party, then she would step aside and let Obama have it. After all, he leads in the delegate count, and there's no way she can catch up. The only thing left to do is pull tricks. First trick? Redoing the Michigan and Florida primaries. Why? Because she needs the delegates. There's one problem...

Clinton was the only name on the ticket! Obama and Edwards (and whomever else was running at the time) followed the RULES and did not enter those races because it was already decided that if the states moved up their primary dates, their votes would be excluded at the convention. Since when have rules meant anything to the Clintons? Especially when it comes to their own self-interest. And who is to say that Clinton will win either of those states if Obama's name is on the ticket as a candidate? Nothing is automatic.

It's actually kind of amusing to see the Democrats turn on each other and pull similar stunts to the one they pulled in the 2000 election. Once again, rules don't matter. It's the outcome that is paramount. Correction; a Democratic outcome.

So let's take this to the convention. Will Hillary step aside if Obama wins the second primaries? Don't count on it. Finally blacks should see that, although they propose to be the party for African-Americans, Democrats are not willing to step aside and actually let a black man win the nomination. Hopefully this will be a turning point for America where Democrats can no longer count on an automatic vote from the black population. It would be about time.

One last post today on the election

Here are my thoughts about this year's election. Who cares? I keep hearing liberal commentators talking about McCain and that Republicans should get behind him. Why? He represents nothing that we stand for. We do not want an (R) in the whitehouse that acts like a Democrat. Maybe Democrats feel that way (a Democrat at any cost), but conservatives don't vote that way. We don't usually support someone like Chuck Hagel or Olympia Snow just because they are Republicans. They are LIBERALS first, Republicans second.

Liberals are DUMB!

Rush Limbaugh proved it. Today on his show a caller said her daughter thought Obama looks like Curious George. Rush laughed (maybe at the funny name) but claimed later that he had never heard of the character and was laughing to be polite to his caller.

Shortly after his explanation and APOLOGY, an African-American (obviously) named Tanisha (or something like that) called in and basically called Rush a liar. She said there is no way he could possibly have never heard of Curious George, and stubbornly stuck to her belief.

My question to her is this... how come she believes that Rush is lying and claims to know when people are doing it, but does not realize when liberal politicians keep lying to her??? Guess she's not as smart as she thinks it is.

Want a recession? Vote DEMOCRAT!

Listen to what Democrats are saying (both Hillary and Obama) about controlling businesses. If you want a recession, vote Democrat. Their stated policies will only deepen the economic slowdown we are experiencing, with or without the stimulus package!

They're not saying it openly. They are attacking certain segments of business such as big oil, but what they really want is to controll every aspect of our economy, and it will not stop with just tobacco or oil or health care. That's communism, folks. And it has been proven to fail.

I urge you to read Thomas Sowell's latest book on economics where he discusses how a centralized approach to managing the country's output has failed in the past, no matter the good intentions. Once again, it is a feel good approach as opposed to a sane approach. It is amazing that there are a number of highly educated people who still believe that this will work, even though it has been disproven over and over again. Can anyone say Russia?

Democrats and liberal Republicans have slowly and incrementally worked us into a state of dependency on the government. First by implementing the IRS, then requiring employers to withhold people's taxes for them, they have lulled us into thinking we are not being taxed as badly as we are. Any change in the tax rate only has a small effect on a weekly or bi-weekly paycheck and is hardly noticed.

Inch by inch they are legislating regulations on businesses that hurt and cripple our economy. Want manufacturing jobs? Forget it. They have been legislated into oblivion by heavy taxation and requiements to comply with the EPA, OSHA, the minimum wage and soon... health care!

Think I'm kidding? Check out San Francisco's latest attempt at being the first city to have every one of its citizens covered. Businesses with 20 or more employees MUST provide health care for their employees... whether they can afford it or not. How can a city government demand that a private business provide health care for its employees even if it is not economically feasible? And what about the people who use those products? Will we have to listen to them whine when the cost of a widget goes from $20 to $40 overnight? Or what about the businesses who decide they will move to Sacramento or Reno in order to get away from the oppressive government regulations so they can stay in business, thus creating newly unemployed people? Guaranteed that if Hillary is elected, this will be coming soon to a country near you!

This sort of thinking has moved our manufacturing jobs overseas! GET GOVERNMENT OUT OF THE PRIVATE SECTOR!!! That's why it's called private!
