John Hofmeister, President of Shell Oil is my new hero

Oil executives have it bad. Every other week, it seems, they are being called up to Capitol Hill to testify as to why gas prices are so high when it is the idiots who called them to come are the real culprits. And now, John Hofmeister has told them just as much.

At some point, people are going to tell environmental whackos where to get off and insist the government lift some, if not all of the restrictions that have been placed on oil companies. Everything we drives uses gasoline. There's no getting around it. Even hybrids use petroleum products. Even the plastic bike helmets that the liberal whackos don so that they don't have to burn fossil fuels to get somewhere are made from petroleum! So why are we not being allowed to go get it?

Look at any other business and tell me one that has been told to produce something, but you can't get it here, can't explore there. If we did that to Congress the country would be in better shape, but other than that, not a single business could do well. And yet they are being charged as if what they are doing to make a living is crimminal. I, for one, am insulted on behalf of the oil companies.

That's why when John Hofmeister, president of Shell Oil handed it to the judiciary committee this week, Dick Durbin and Charles Schumer should have been ashamed of themselves. But they won't be because they are politicians... actors... and they have no conscience. Their only contribution to society is to pretend to solve problems and then get paid for it... thus keeping them off unemployment. Personally, I would prefer they do the latter. Scumbags.

Let the oil companies do what they do best and let's start hauling the global warming hoaxsters into court and make them prove their case!

The topic is ENERGY policy... or lack of one!

The senate is out of touch. With Democrats in the majority, they have ruined our economy with their stupid policies. And now they are about to do it again. As recently as May 9th, they are proposing a double whammy to America's energy companies.

Not only will they revoke any tax credits for big oil companies, but they are also proposing a windfall profits tax on companies that don't invest in new energy sources. This is the stupidist thing I have ever heard.

Companies are in business to make a profit. If they could sell mud and make money they would do so with or without any tax consequences by the government. So why are politicians threatening oil companies if they don't invest in something that might make them money??? You've got it. There will be no profit in these energy alternatives because they don't work and people don't want them. Just like the recycling ruse foisted upon us by liberals (because most of the recycling goes into land fills and does not get reused... it's too expensive!) And who is going to pay for these extra expenses? You and I will. How does this lower gas prices????? It doesn't.

Harry Reid could be one of the worst senate leaders ever. If he is still in office after the next election, then people will deserve what they get from his incompetence. Remember those expensive bi-partisan hearings where the oil executives were marched up in front of the arrogant senators and asked to defend themselves? And remember that the investigation into "price gouging" turned up nothing? So where are the windfall profits?

After 6 years of booming economy, the Democrats have been in power in both the house and the senate and the bottom has dropped out of the economy. Who are they blaming? Bush. Now if Bush gets the blame, then shouldn't he get the credit for the previous 6 years? No, Bush is bad, Democrats are good. BULL. I contend that liberal policies are ruining this country and with a Democrat president, it will only get worse.

I suggested to the oil companies on their websites that they do a little better job of tooting their own horns. The press surely is not going to do it. I suggested they do the OSH "we pay the sales tax" promotion where they voluntarily lower their per gallon price at the pump by the amount of state and federal taxes to show people how much they are really adding to the skyrocketing gas prices. Then they should use that opportunity to educate people on what it takes to bring that gas to the pump. And all the roadblocks that the government is putting in their way to brining us cheap gas.

We need one formulation of gas. We need more refineries. We need more drilling. Even hybrids still use gas. And since ethanol is using up our food sources and making our groceries cost more, we need to do something. Corn can be eaten, so why use it for fuel? Oil is good for nothing other than burning for energy. Let's get real.

I am going to harp on this until someone wakes up and starts telling us the truth!
