It has been awhile since I last posted. We have been in Hawaii where there is a constant dose of environmental nonsense being spouted day in and day out, despite the fact that most of Waikoloa has been built on top of lava fields that would have taken centuries to develop by nature had not man intervened!
I don't know about you, but I am sick of hearing about global warming and the planet in crisis. I just don't believe that man is or could do that much damage (in the long term) to the environment. I am certain we can make a mess of things like the recent oil spill in the San Francisco Bay, but several years from now there will probably be no evidence that it happened, with or without everyone's help. The planet takes care of itself.
So when will environmentalism step over the line and start people thinking that this is all a bunch of nonsense. I am not talking about clean air and water. I hardly think anyone would disagree that this is a priority. Without it, quality of life is threatened. What I am talking about is the sheer lunacy that represents the radical environmental movement of today.
One example would be the liberal women who have chosen to sterilize themselves in order to save the planet. Judging by the number of young children I see running around these days, I think they are hardly a majority. Or even sane, for that matter. The good news is these extremists will make themselves extinct, and I say good riddance!
Or what about the tree sitters in Berkeley who are holding up the construction of college facilites? The only people who find them heroes are a few who live in San Francisco, Oakland and Berkeley. The rest of the world thinks they are insane and wonder how a few unwashed hippies living in trees can thwart the will of the rest of the state. This is certainly a case where the will of the few outweighs the will of the many. I say cut the trees out from under them! Anyway, as a way of saying thanks, the tree tossed out one of the sitters who landed on the ground and broke an arm and a leg. Maybe the tree was looking forward to becoming a baseball bat or toothpicks or paper!
Then you've got the 9th Circuit who sided with the Sierra Club and ruled that the US Forest Service could not clear dead trees off of Federal Land. This is insane, considering the recent fires in both Northern and Southern California. People who lost property in these fires should sue the Sierra Club for the loss, since it was they who prohibited the clearing of dead wood from around their properties, and fueled the blazes.
When will people start to see the hypocricy? It is becoming more and more apparent that these people are living by double standards. So much so that I don't want to hear ANYTHING they have to say anymore. From what I hear, other people are starting to feel the same.
If I see one more environmental commercial from PG&E or a car company, I am going to throw up. Sure they want us to go GREEN... but the green they are talking about is MONEY!!! Green builders. Are they doing it for free? Hardly. Recycled products cost MORE than ordinary products. So does organic. Shouldn't all these healthy things be LESS expensive since the people producing them should be doing it for belief, not benefit! HYPOCRITES!
Then take Joni Mitchell, who wrote the song about paving paradise to put in a parking lot. One of the first environmental songs. Turns out she is a heavy smoker... What ever happened to think globally but act locally??? She is polluting the main environment around her... her body!!! HYPOCRITE!
And we should know by now that the music industry is against big oil. But where do they think we get the petroleum to make the CDs? Do they realize that the plastic cases their music comes in is also derived from petroleum? And how do they plan on getting their music to the stores? Sailboats? HYPOCRITES!
Electric hybrids may get 46-74 miles to the gallon when driven at reasonable speeds, but do you know how many times I've seen a Prius with "Impeach Bush" bumper stickers fly past me on the freeway doing better than 80 MPH? Aside from the fact that I never saw a bumper sticker that solved a problem, let's stop blaming SUVs for destroying the environment and place the blame on those cars with the environmentally unfriendly batteries (and they still use petroleum anyway!) and the manufacturing plants that make them for some of the pollution! Because of this there is a push for completely electric vehicles that are charged up at the house. Where do they think the electricity is coming from? Coal plants, most likely since environmentalists won't let us build any nuclear power plants (odd since they are a truly non CO2 emissions system!) HYPOCRITES!
The drive-by media certainly has this on its agenda since you will not see a news report that does not have some story that buttresses the global warming agenda. Watch the news tonight with that in mind... and you will see how the media lies!
