The other day I was thinking that the politicians in this country have so mucked it up that I thought we should start our own country where conservative ideals, small government, low taxes and personal responsibility were the standard way of life.
You know what I came up with? WE DID! The USA. It's the people who are trying to change it that need to go find their own country! The US has drifted so far askew that it will take generations of dedicated young people who probably haven't been born yet, to save the country from its eventual demise into socialism and collapse.
I don't think it's intentional. Liberals have big hearts and want to help people. What they don't realize is that by passing laws that "help people" and makes them popular so they can get re-elected, it often hurts the same people they are trying to help.
How can anyone listen to a Democrat (and some Republicans) talk about the problems they are going to solve if they are elected and take them seriously? They have been trying since the great depression with government program after governement program and haven't solved a single problem. Yet they promise, and the problems get worse, never better.
So now Clinton, Edwards and Obama are out there telling people the same lies, over and over again. They pander to this group and that and get money from people who seem to believe their rhetoric and still... they solve nothing. Take my word for it, if the Democrats win in '08, they will be promising to fix the same problems again in 2012 and 2016. Mark my words! As George Zimmer of the Men's Warehouse says, "I guarantee it!"
